Palmyra

So, I never did finish posting about our family vacation in May! After we went to Cooperstown (the Baseball Hall of Fame), we then headed up to Palmyra, New York to see some church history sites. We were all really excited for this trip because neither of us had ever been there.
The first place we went to was the Joseph Smith family farm. This is the Joseph Smith family cabin replica.

Us inside the cabin.

The farm and the Sacred Grove in the background.
This picture is really neat, it's of the Palmyra Temple taken from the Joseph Smith farm.
We learned that when they buildt this temple, they put glass windows inside that look out at the Sacred Grove. And they cut through the trees here so that you could actually see the Grove.

Here is the Sacred Grove!!

It was quite the spiritual experience and so peaceful just walking through it as a family.

The next place we went to was the Hill Cumorah. This is the hill from the freeway.

This is taken from the top of the hill.

This is also from the top of the Hill Cumorah, the monument was really nice.
This is the LDS chapel that is between the Sacred Grove and the temple. I just thought it was pretty neat looking.

Next we went to the Book of Mormon publishing building. This is one of the rooms they first published the Book of Mormon. We had such a good experience in Palmyra! I'm so glad we were able to go, it was really fun, we learned alot, the kids did quite well, and it was just nice to actually be there and see things with our own eyes that we've only seen pictures of or read about. Definitely worthwhile!
