Santa!

So, Santa Clause came to storytime yesterday, and Caden was so excited to see him so that he could ask him for what he wanted for Christmas. I think he was a little too excited, because as soon as he sat on his lap, Santa asked him how old he was and if he's been a good boy this year, and Caden just started saying, "legos batman, fingerpaints, (etc.)..." It was pretty cute.
In this past month, Caden and Tyson have been having a blast wrestling with each other, Tyson's been walking all over the place and is starting to scoot a little on his tummy, and Taylor and I have been keeping busy preparing for the big move, and we've also done a few big projects. One of them was helping Taylor's family paint the inside of their mom's house. She decided to have it be two-toned. I'm not very experienced in painting walls, but it was fun and I learned alot. We did the upstairs, then later we did the downstairs. This is Taylor publically expressing his love for me (hahaha!) with the leftover paint from the upstairs walls. Obviously this happened before the walls were done being painted. : )
I can't believe that we leave Utah in 11 days!! Where is the time going? And can you believe Christmas is in just 8 days? We are pretty excited!

What? Walking? Crawling is apparently overrated!

CAUTION: Caden is awesome with camera. (You'll have to turn your head sideways to watch this video:-) ) Actually I was quite proud him. He kept Tyson in the picture the whole time. Oh, and PLEASE ignore my annoying, overreaction of excitement at the end of it.

Tyson turned 9 months old yesterday, and has still made no attempt to crawl. However, for quite a while he has been holding on to our fingers and "walking" everywhere. He is not often happy when we sit him down to play with toys, he just wants your fingers so he can stand up and walk. It's cute how he thinks he is so big and I guess it makes sense since everyone he sees is walking, not crawling.

Well last Monday, Taylor and I had him walk by himself in between us, and he took a bunch of steps all by himself, and with pretty good balance!! We were so excited!

Our Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year. It was nice because Taylor didn't have to work so he could come trick or treating with us. Caden gets to spend a lot of time with some of his cousins because they live so close, so we all went trick-or-treating together. We just hit the houses around the neighborhood that Taylor went to as a kid and it was really fun. Caden came home with a bucket full of candy so he wasn't complaining either.

This is Tyson giving us his best growl. We thought it appropriate to dress him up as a tiger as we have called him the "tyger" since he was born.

Caden decided to go as an elephant this year. We found a costume for him at Costco which turned out to be a little small. He took it all in stride and was more than happy to don the grey socks. It ended up being really cute with his big fat elephant suit and then two skinny little legs holding it up. It drew more than one smile as we would run into people we knew. Caden did really good with the trick or treating this year. He walked the whole time and never complained about being too tired. He just kept saying "one more house" and never wanted to stop. In fact the only complaint he had the entire time was right close to the end he grabbed my hand and asked me to carry him. When I asked why he just looked up and as innocent as could be said, "because my wedgie is starting to hurt." I figured that was a valid excuse :-)

Taylor's birthday was the 1st of October and one of the activities he wanted to do was bake a cake as a family activity. We had so much fun. We asked Caden what kind of cake we should make and he decided he wanted a Mario cake. So we went to work. It took us hours to make, cut, fit together, and frost, but the finished product was worth it. It turned out really well and we were really happy with it, so we thought we would post a picture here.

It has been a month full of fun things in the Corry house, and this may have been the topper. Taylor's mom got her mission call!! For those of you who didn't know, Taylor's mom has been preparing for a mission and has waited a while for the call to finally come. Well it is here and she is proud to announce that she will be serving a full-time mission at the family history center in Salt Lake City. She is so excited, and we are excited for her. Thanks Virginia for being such a great example for our kids!!!

Hair, Teeth, and Blue Eggs

Okay! I have a lot of catching up to do, so first of all please forgive me, and second, please read on!
About a month ago, we went to the zoo with Taylor's sister Becky and her family. It was a lot of fun, this is a picture of Caden, Tyson, and their cousins sitting on some statues of tigers, it was amazing that we got a shot of all five of them contained in one area! They have lots of fun and lots of energy!

Some of these pictures may not be the best quality because I took them with my phone, but what's important is that I got a picture of my two little Cougars all excited for the big game!! yeah, we like BYU Saturdays!
Tyson makes the cutest and funniest faces sometimes, I just had to add these two pictures as I caught the moment.

You may be wondering about the title of this post, so here is the explanation: I finally broke down and decided it was okay to give Tyson a haircut for the first time. I love the color of Tyson's hair and I have been somewhat paranoid that his hair may change to either brown or blonde as he grows, and so I never wanted to cut any of it off. But I was finally convinced to trim at least the extremely long wisps around his ears as long as I could save the hair in a ziplock bag. So I did, I know I'm kind of pathetic. Anyway, this is our adorable 8 month old after his "haircut". You can barely even tell the difference! So I'm happy.

We had a hard time getting him to smile for the picture because he didn't really like the haircutting process, so this was the happiest we could get.

This is him showing off his four new teeth. He likes to grind them and it's kinda noisy. I hope it's not bad for his teeth!

And this is Caden last night. He wanted a bed time snack and he asked for eggs. So Taylor asked him "What color do you want? Yellow or white?" Meaning scrambled or non scrambled. And Caden said he wanted blue. So Taylor decided to use food coloring and make him some blue eggs, and this was the gourmet result. However, it was kind of weird looking and Caden decided not to eat them after all that work, Oh well! Thanks babe, I thought they tasted good:)

Anesthesia!!

So it's official!!! Taylor got accepted to Nurse Anesthetist school in Fairfield Connecticut and we've decided to go!! We'll probably leave in December sometime because school starts in January. We are a little nervous but really excited at the same time for this new adventure. And here are some fun updated family pictures taken by Tynelle, (thanks again Tynelle) she does such a good job. Anyway, yay Taylor!! I'm so proud of him, he's worked so hard to get here!

We're back!!

A lot has happened since the last time I posted! Most importantly, our sweet little Caden had a big birthday!! He turned three years old on the 15th of June. It was really fun celebrating his birthday this year since he's actually old enough to understand what's going on. We are so grateful to have Caden in our family, he is such a wonderful boy and has been a great blessing in our lives. This is the first time I've tried to add a video to the blog, I hope it works, (it's at the bottom of the post) Caden was really cute singing happy birthday to himself as he was waiting to blow out his candles so he could eat his cake, hope you enjoy! These pictures are in a random order, but I wanted to show off my three cute guys!!
This is Taylor and I trying our first tomatoes from our garden! They were so delicious, and we're also getting lots of zuchini squash, yay!! We're so glad that it worked :)

An update on our lives right now: We're in the middle of getting graduate school figured out for January, we still don't know what's going to happen yet, so were waiting and trying to prepare right now. Tyson is about 18 lbs at 5 months old (which, funny enough, is as much as Caden weighed when he turned one year old!) and he just rolled over for the first time a few days ago, pretty exciting. We call him Tyson the tiger because he growels so much, it's cute! Caden still has so much energy and is suprising us every day with his vocabulary and loves to sing alot. He makes me laugh so much. Yesterday we told him that we're going to church so he needs to go put on some "nice" cloths, and he just looked at us and said, "but I want to put on some mean cloths!" hahaha!

The fruits of our labor. It's been fun to actually get something out of our garden.

Gardening!

As some of you know, we're renting our house right now, so we're not here longterm and we're going to graduate school hopefully in January. However, we really wanted to try and have a garden for this summer. Neither of us have ever gardened before and we wanted to try just for fun, so my talented husband built these boxes and did all this landscaping and we planted some tomatoes, squash, peppers, strawberries and flowers. We really have no idea what we're doing, so we may never get any veggies from it, but at least we had the experience and maybe we'll learn what to do better when we have our own house someday.
Taylor has worked so hard to get our yard looking good, he really enjoys it, and as you can see Caden wants to be just like him. He followed Taylor around the entire backyard and frontyard just mowing along beside him, it was so cute!

So, Caden has been trying to refuse his naps lately and as a result this is what happens when we tell him to sit down for dinner! Yes, he honestly just fell asleep trying to get in his seat it was so funny!! ( I promise that my child DOES wear cloths sometimes, I know that a lot of the pictures I post are of him without a shirt on, after he eats anything he usually takes it off because he got it dirty or wet while eating and I can never get him to put it back on! Should I go back to putting a bip on him at almost 3 years old??!?)

Tyson's Blessing

As you can see, Tyson is growing a lot and his big brother loves him so much! Life here has been wonderful, Taylor recently got hired on to doing only night shifts now, which will be fine, a little rough on his sleeping schedule but it will work out okay because he prefers the night shift over the day shift anyway. He says the atmosphere is better and he's not running all over the place. He'll work 6 nights in a row and then have 8 days off in a row, then 6 on, 8 off, etc...we're excited! It should be good. Taylor took the GRE test and was happy with his score, now he's filling out applications, getting references, and other preparations, so...keeping busy!
Tyson was blessed by Taylor last Sunday, and it went really well!

Seeing as it's close to Mother's Day, I thought I'd point out that Taylor's mother and my mother were both able to be there, we sure appreciate and love them both, they are wonderful!

This was my first attempt at crocheting something other than a blanket or scarf, I think it turned out okay, but wow, Tyson has been growing so fast, I was afraid he wouldn't fit in it by the time we blessed him. I think the pants were supposed to be "pant length", and they only went down to his knees! Oh well, it was still fun and he is still cute!!

Smiles!

Things are going well for us in the Corry household, Taylor just finished a Statistics class he's been taking online (a requirement for graduate school), and he did really well! Now he's busy studying for the GRE test that he'll be taking at the end of this month (another requirement for graduate school). So, obviously we are busy getting ready to apply for graduate school soon. We're hoping to be able to get in somewhere that starts in January. We have about six different schools we're applying for.
Another exciting thing that's happened in the last little while is that Tyson is now smiling!! Yeah!! Here's a cute picture of his sweet smile, I can't believe how big he is already!!

My two sweet boys!

There is no particular order to these random pictures, you'll have to bear with me because I've posted a lot of them!!
Here is our hansome Caden in his new Sunday suit, he'll wear it for Easter for sure!!

Yeah, smile it up kid

Tyson, so content in Daddy's arms

Caden has been wanting to do EVERYTHING by himself lately including putting his belt on,

He's especially good at matching his cloths!

Tyson is six weeks old now, I still can't believe how fast the time is going, it has been really fun, life is sweet and we are all adjusting very well now.

Caden took this picture of Tyson, I think he actually did a pretty good job!

Here's our BYU stud, I know football season is over, but our family really gets into March Madness, and we all (including Caden and Tyson) filled out brackets this year! Even though BYU went out quickly, we are still having fun competing against each other. Tyson and I are winning in our brackets so far!!

So, Tyson has RED hair. These pictures don't show it very well, but in our opinions it is quite red, especially in the sun. When Caden was born, his hair was slightly red as well, but it quickly lightened up to blonde. So far, Tyson's hair hasn't made any attempt to change, I think it would be fun if it stayed that color, I guess we'll have to see!

So Fast!

Time has gone by so fast since Tyson was born. I can't believe how fast they grow when they are so little. He has already gained over a pound.

Life has been wonderful, (and tiring at times) but we have definitely been counting our blessings.

Our very talented neighbor, Tynelle, has taken these pictures of Tyson when he was one week old.

You would think she had a studio or something, but she just took them in about 10 minutes while I was at her house one time and they turned out so well!

Pictures of the "Tyger"

Here he is!

Caden absolutely loves him, always asking to hold him and wanting to kiss him as you can see. Tyson is such a sweet baby, we are so grateful for how smoothly everything went. We are home now and enjoying just being home and relaxing (well, I guess as much relaxing as a two-year-old will allow!). It has been really fun! We've had a lot of help offered by family and friends, thanks guys! My wonderful husband took work off for almost 2 weeks, it's so great to have him here!
