Corry Update

I realize I'm not good at keeping up with posting, but I've decided I'm not going to give up! So, here's some major events that I don't want to pass up:

JULY

My mom, Marvin, and sister Hannah came around the 4th of July and took the kids and I (Taylor was really busy in school and clinicals at the time) to Palmyra for a few days. We had such a wonderful time, and were able to see the Hill Cummorah Pageant, which none of us had ever seen before and it was fantastic. It even held Caden's attention the entire time. If you look closely at this picture, you can see the Palmyra Temple through the trees behind us. We are at the Joseph Smith farm.

This picture of Caden in front of the temple is kind of precious to me, not just because it's sweet, but because of the story behind it. We stopped here real quick just so my mom and Marvin could jump out and snap a picture of them in front of it, on our way to some other sites. When Caden saw them out there taking pictures, he burst into tears. He said, "the temple is so special to me, can we take a picture of me in front of it too?" How could I refuse then? It was really sweet.

SEPTEMBER

Caden's first day of Preschool! He was SO extremely excited, for probably weeks before it actually started, and to this day, he LOVES going to preschool. If it works, at the bottom of this post is a video of him walking up to the building, it's pretty cute.

Taylor came home one day and suprised the boys with this GIANT teddy bear, they snuggled right up to it.

OCTOBER

For Halloween, Caden really wanted to be Harry Potter, and Tyson to be Ron Weasley (with his red hair) and me to be Hermione. Taylor was in Ohio for the weekend for a Boards Study Course, so we weren't able to have him with us, darn, he probably would have been Voldemort :)

Another really fun thing that happened in October is that Taylor's mom and grandmother were able to come visit us! It was so good to see them and we had a great time! They were able to visit some big sites in NYC for a day, and we all went up to Boston and took a fun bus tour for another day. I wish I had some pictures to show for it all!

NOVEMBER

My awesome husband, took the kids for an entire weekend in November and let me take off to Tennessee to visit my dad, it was so much fun, we also went to Dolleywood for a day, which was AWESOME and just had a great time.

Well, in case someone doesn't already know, we are expecting a baby girl on March 5th! We are all so extremely excited, (especially Caden) and so far things are going really well. Taylor is getting so close to being done with school and clinicals, only one more semester and he graduates in May! He's doing really well and seems to be keeping up with everything alright (church calling, family, classes, studying and clinical work), and no physical injuries since last April/May's back surgury, thankfully! :)

Caden's 5th Birthday

Caden just celebrated his 5th birthday, I can't believe we have a five year old in our family!! Caden is such an awesome boy, he is learning so much, growing so tall, is so kind to everyone, and is such a great big brother to Tyson, and we are so proud of him. He decided to have a "pirate" birthday party with a bunch of friends this year.

Taylor and I had a lot of fun planning this party, we had a scavenger hunt-treasure hunt, some fun pirate games, and we planned to have a "battle at sea" with squirt guns, water balloons, and splash balls, which would have worked out had it not been raining most of the time.

Taylor, reading the next clue for the hunt.

Yes, Taylor definitely made this cake, and I think he did such a great job. He really had fun with this party and made it quite special for the Cadester!

Here is just a few more things that we've been up to the last little while. Caden has been pretty exited to try out his new fishing pole, and he happened to catch a fish on his first cast ever! (He'd been practicing casting on the grass for a while with Taylor)

It was really fun for him, he and Tyson were both excited as you can see. (This picture was taken with my cheep phone, hence the not-so-great quality.)
We had a fun Easter, we didn't do much, but the Easter Bunny came and the kids enjoyed an egg hunt.

I just had to add this. Taylor found this outfit out here in Connecticut of all places, for our dog to proudly wear! It's probably meant for a different sports team, but it's definitely close enough, right? Haha...

And last, I just want to add (in case some of you may not know) that Taylor had back surgery last month, due to a severely ruptured disc in his lower back (and sadly we had to miss his brother's wedding because of it), but he has recovered remarkably! He has had back problems for many years, and the day after his surgery, he said he feels better than he has in probably 7 years. He hasn't had any problems since and has just felt great. He had to miss about 6 weeks total of clinical rotations, but his school has worked really well with him, he's kept up with his class work, he's making up for the clinicals he missed, and all around we just truly feel blessed and are so grateful for so many prayers, and that everything has fallen into place so well for him. We now have a little less than a year before he graduates, time seems to be flying!

To cover it all (condensed?)!

This is going to be as brief as I can make it, I'm just going to point out the major events. I'm going to start at Halloween!! I know, how many months ago was that?

HALLOWEEN

Taylor started developing this hobby where he would make all kinds ofcakes! I was really impressed, and he really enjoyed doing this! (And I really enjoyed eating the cakes)

THANKSGIVING

This was our families first Thanksgiving dinner with no one but our little family. We miss all our extended familly, but we had a nice time together.

Look closely at Taylor's ear in this picture. Thanksgiving day, our Elder's Quorum had a turkey bowl (football, for those like me who didn't know what that meant:)). He ended up getting a concussion, and got his ear ripped slightly, to the point where he needed stitches! He decided not to go to the hospital, he just used steri-strips instead and fixed it!

While I'm talking about Taylor's injuries...toward the end of January, Taylor was playing basketball after Mutual, and he slipped and broke his arm! My poor husband... He also has lower back problems, and he pulled a major muscle in his leg recently (which still hasn't healed). I feel so bad for him, I told him he's not allowed to play sports any more at least until he's done with school! We'll see if he listens to me...

MY DAD'S VISIT

My dad came and visited in early December, we had a really nice time! He sure spoiled us all:)

He took us to the "real" Santa in NY at Macey's. It was a blast, this picture was awesome of Tyson! Poor guy, he didn't like Santa much.

CHRISTMAS

We had a wonderful Christmas!! It was nice to have Taylor home for school break.

Yes, my husband IS Hott Spiderman!

MY MOM'S VISIT

My little sister, Hannah, and my mom came to visit right after Christmas! It was so much fun, we also went into NY City and had a blast.

SNOW, SNOW, AND MORE SNOW!

We had snow storm after snow storm that lasted for weeks and weeks, it would dump 2 to 3 feet of snow, and then a few days later, it would dump another couple feet of snow, then it would go maybe about a week and dump 18 inches more! This continued for SOOOO long. I absolutely love snow, but this was kinda ridiculous! The piles of plowed and shoveled snow were so high, that when it would snow again, there would be no where to put the new load. As beautiful as it was, I've really been craving spring!

TYSON'S BIRTHDAY #2 !
On February 4th, sweet Tyson turned 2! I can't believe my baby is now a toddler. It's crazy how time flies. He still has his red hair, he still loves to cuddle and beat up his big brother, he is starting to put words together to make small sentences, he loves to color, and snuggle his stuffed animals. We love you Tyson!

Taylor's still doing really well in school. The program is getting more intense, and he's busier, but he's handling it all nicely. He now gets to be on call a few times per month on top of clinicals, studying, and classes (and church callings, and injuries! :) ). He's doing well, and I'm very proud of him and his hard work!
