Baseball Hall of Fame

So, Taylor made it through his first semester! He did really well, got good grades, and I'm really proud of him. He had about 2 weeks off before his next semester started, so we decided to take a family vacation and see some places that we've always wanted to see. We were really excited to have some fun family time. We started with Cooperstown, New York where the Baseball Hall of Fame is. Taylor was WAY excited for this place, he's always dreamed of going there and we live only 4 hours away.

This is the drive there, I just wanted to show how green and foresty (is that a word?) it is out here.

This is right in front of the Hall of Fame.

This is kind of random, but it's called the "holy cow". Caden really wanted me to take a picture of it.

Taylor had fun showing Caden everything. The kids did suprisingly well through it all, I even enjoyed it!! It was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be, and I really don't know anything about baseball:)

I'm probably not going to do the description of these pictures justice, but these are the Chicago Cubs' (Taylor's favorite baseball team) original jersey and glove.

This one is great. It's the 756th ball Bary Bonds hit, to break Hank Aaron's all-time homerun record. The story behind the asterisk is that the kid that caught the ball sold it to a sports collector who then held an online auction asking what he should do with the ball. Fans could vote for him to either keep the ball for his own collection, send the ball to the hall of fame in its original state, or mark the ball with an asterisk (Barry Bonds is accused of using steroids and many fans don't think he deserves to own the homerun record) and then send it to the hall of fame. Well as you can see the asterisk won out, and so here it is proudly displayed for all to see.

This is the locker dedicated to the Cubs. Taylor really wanted to get pictures of it. The uniform is Greg Maddox's (according to Taylor one of the best pitchers to ever play) and the locker is full of various memorabilia that apparently means something to Taylor:-)
